Youth Workshops
At Haven of Memorable Experiences, we strive to empower the lives of youth in the greater Houston community through our variety of programs. Our Youth Workshops are designed to provide young people with all the tools they need to be great leaders tomorrow.
We are happy to be the driving force behind the development of our children, and hope to continue making a difference in their lives. Join us every 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month for exciting free, fun, and supportive workshops. Due to COVID-19 our in person workshops are limited at this time.
Importance of Experiences
Since 2016, we have contributed to the development of children in the greater Houston area through our wide range of programs. Experiences offered through H.O.M.E. are centered on instilling strong values into our youth and provides a space for them to expand their mind while meeting new and interesting individuals.
Experiences are beneficial for the following reasons just to name a few:
- Experience presents opportunities for growth.
- Experience gives you the reality check.
- Experience gives you the capacity to appreciate life, promoting happiness.
- Experience is a mentor that keeps you focused.
- Through experience, you become resilient and learn to move on.
- Experiences offer you choices.
- Through experience, you learn that nothing is impossible.
- Experience teaches you that change is inevitable.
Art of Memories
”What we remember from childhood we remember forever — permanent ghosts, stamped, inked, imprinted, eternally seen.” — Cynthia Ozick
Sentiments play a vital role in childhood memories. Nothing is more influential than the memories created by a child’s experiences. Several studies have been carried out on this topic, and although most researchers agree that emotions are a key characteristic, they do not agree whether positive or negative emotion predominates in those memories. Childhood memories shape our adult life.
As a result, H.O.M.E. continues to replace negative memories with positive experiences through the lens of socially engaged art.
